Teachers are the source of true enlightment in our lives

Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills, and values from one generation to another. We in India have been pioneers in the field of education right from the Vedic period when the Gurukul system was highly prevalent.

In the current education scenario, teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history. This process is called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher education.Teachers are the ones who make a difference in the lives of students. Rousing students from their apathy and watching their curiosity grow is one of the best rewards of teaching.

To become a teacher one requires dedication, perseverance and patience. He/She must have the ability to communicate well, a deep passion for the subject one handles. Most importantly - A teacher has to be a friend, philosopher, and guide for his/her students.

Career Counseling can help in deciding right career option

For over years, Indian education system limits itself to engineering, accounting, medical, finance or any other conventional courses. These above mentioned education streams are considered to be on the safest side, which assures bright professional career. Over stuffing of people has brought a saturation point in these professions. With everyone opting for medical, engineering and accounting, the value and credibility of these professions has also gone down in the recent years. This is mostly because of the social taboos and self limitations. No one dares to go beyond traditional education and thus end up falling in the same pond.

Another important factor that contributes to this is the ignorance and level of knowledge about different booming careers and education. A common phenomenon that is observed in Indian students is that they follow to others rather than putting their own brains. There are a lot of streams like fashion designing, marketing management, animation, hair dressing, advertising, graphic designing, aviation and many others, which has shown tremendous potential in recent times. Not in terms of vocational courses, but as full fledged courses and ensure successful professional career.

Owing to technological advancements, students in metro cities have understood the importance of new age education and have started experimenting with it. They are taking up new challenges and are ready to withstand career risks. But the situation lies still the same in the interiors of India. There people still stick with traditional education and go for picking up ever available options. Considering the mind set of students falling in this category has to be changed. Career counseling is one of the most appropriate ways to guide right direction to a student. Through career counseling, the doubts and misconception can be resolved and can provide a child with best of the advices. They can also be informed about the growth, scope and prospects of new education and career options and can be encouraged to go beyond commercialized streams. Students’ right after their 10th class board examinations should seek for career counseling as it will help them in taking an appropriate decision  right at the onset of their career.

Information technology has risen a new world

Our world today has changed a great deal with the aid of information technology. Ethics in education...anybody listening??

Dictonary defines ethics as "the rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group, culture." If you look around at the society to see who are those individuals who are held up as the examples to our children, it becomes obvious that we are driving our country into and ethical or moral collapse.

This begs the question that whatever is taught in the schools, colleges, universities and indeed all these business management schools is actually helping them to learn desired code of conduct. The reality of today's world is that children spend more time in their educational places rather than their own homes. That is why education must live up the expectations.

What is it we really want teachers to do? In order to achieve this, they must first understand the values in the society and learn to live within the margins of the behaviors expected of them. Many times it falls upon the teachers to instill these values, not because the parents do not want to provide these values to their children, but because they are many times working two jobs, single parents, or face other obstacles that prevent them from doing that which in the past fell to them. As a result, shouldn't we as a society value these individuals, who attend universities, and then for as little pay as the governments in their areas can get away with paying them dedicate their lives to helping all the children within a society? What ethics are we showing them if we tell our children that their teachers are "failures?" Are we as a society dooming our children to live within a society without any moral standards

Decide on your priority?

Have u decided on your priority?
Those large dollar signs are often hard to resist, especially early in a career. In fact, people in the first five to 10 years of their careers are more likely to make a job decision based exclusively on compensation. While it is important to be compensated fairly for your work, money does not deserve to be your number one priority. If your only focus is on the bottom line of your paycheck, you are neglecting other important factors in deciding your next career move.

Think of your career as an investment. If you have the position that you have always wanted – one that offers good compensation for the work and the right mix of benefits to fit your career needs, then its worth making investment in that opportunity. Once you are on the job, look for long-term growth opportunities and the possibility for mentorship, these factors are always to be kept in mind. Take advantage of such opportunities. Typically, such opportunites are offered to those professionals who have documented successes over a period of time, share them in a professional way, and can demonstrate a commitment to the business management organization.

There always will be better-paying jobs out there. But there are few jobs that will be a right fit for your individual balance of needs. If you are a job candidate who is willing to look past the paycheck, you often can find a better overall position – one that satisfies your values, work ethic and lifestyle as well as one that pads your pocketbook.

Understanding the importance of the above said very important lines, business management schools keep this as a part of their cutting edge training programmes so that students are never misguided and take tthe right path in the very initial years of their career.
